How does Botox/Dysport work?

Botox is a treatment that uses a small amount of botulinum toxin type A. It is injected into specific areas of the face with a very thin needle. The treatment stops the signals that make facial muscles move. This helps to reduce expression lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles. You will notice the effects gradually within 3 to 7 days after getting the injection

What areas of the face can be treated with Botox?

Botox can treat lines and wrinkles in various areas of the face, such as the forehead, around the eyes (crow’s feet), and on the lips. It can also help with dimpling of the chin and reduce pain from teeth grinding or TMJ when injected into the jaw muscles, and it can create a slimmer jawline. Some uses of Botox may not be officially approved.

What does a Botox treatment feel like?

The procedure is not seen as painful. Most people feel a little discomfort during the injection, but it goes away quickly after the treatment is done.

How soon will I see the results?

While the experience of each patient may differ, it usually takes 3-5 days to see the effects of Botox. For some, it may take up to 2 weeks to realize the final effects.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments designed to restore lost volume and create a more youthful appearance. They can be applied to the face to soften wrinkles, enhance lip fullness, and smooth the skin on hands, providing near-immediate results for rejuvenation and lift.

Are dermal fillers better than botox?

Dermal fillers and Botox serve different purposes and can be complementary treatments. They address various concerns, so a consultation is essential to decide which is best for your need

What will I look like after the treatment?

Depending on your treatment, results will vary. Your nurse will review aftercare and expectations before your treatment begins. After an injection, dermal filler or botox, you may experience swelling or light bleeding or bruising in the area. After a facial treatment, you can expect your skin to be red and slightly swollen, similar to a mild sunburn, for about 24 to 48 hours. You might also notice some tiny spots of bleeding or bruising. Within one to two weeks, your skin should begin to look smoother and more radiant, but the best results will develop over the next few months.
